ftps connectivity error
« on: July 04, 2018, 07:01:07 pm »
Hello,

I just compiled and installed 1.3.6 in a new box, and when I try to start a ftps server and connect to it using lftp, I get the error message shown below.

Any thoughts on what's going on here?

Thanks,

lftp user@somehost:~> ls
---- dns cache hit
---- attempt number 1 (max_retries=2)
---- Connecting to somehost  (x.x.x.x) port 18299
GNUTLS: Received record packet of unknown type 50
**** gnutls_handshake: An unexpected TLS packet was received.
---- Closing control socket
ls: Fatal error: gnutls_handshake: An unexpected TLS packet was received.

I noticed the error in my ways.  I was instructing lftp to "ftps" to the server.  Once I told lftp to "ftp" to the ftps instance things started working fine.

Sorry.
